Customer requested that the existing production pipe be removed from its location near the ground and placed in a pipe lane. The piping had been in service for a number of years and some connections were completed using dresser sleeves. These connections and the prolonged life of the piping created a leaking potential and possible environmental hazard for the owners. It also was presenting safety concerns for terminal personnel. The location of the piping also restricted movement of men and equipment in the tank farm. This prevented the area from being properly maintained and could create further problems if a leak occurred.

The pipe lane structure was fabricated and erected within 30 days from the start.

Piping was relocated from the existing location into the new rack. This was accomplished by realigning service of product lines. GW Construction worked with the terminal personnel to keep the facility in full operation throughout the project. Minimal shutdowns were required for final tie-ins.

New river lines are tied in to existing lines through a manifold. This created flexibility for the terminal personnel to determine type and storage location of products.
